Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing quality policies and procedures in the plant. Activities include monitoring various elements of operations quality, problem solving to correct issues, and reporting results. This individual will lead focused teams and will drive corrective action, preventative action, and continuous improvement activities on a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, document and develop corrective action strategies for internal and external quality related issues.
• Organize, coordinate and interface with OEM’s regarding parts and transmission concerns.
• Coordinate continuous improvement activities and corrective action activities to closure.
• Provide professional reports on quality investigations, findings, and results.
• Develop and/or complete plant reliability tests to analyze and solve problems.
• Analyze product and process design to prevent and correct problems.
• Develop, conduct, and complete required reliability, process, and product audits. Participate in IATF 16949 audits.
• Communicate and coordinate activities with cross-functional organizations
• Implements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within an automotive manufacturing environment

• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
• High level of knowledge of product engineering and manufacturing/assembly processes required.
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with business partners and diverse work groups to meet mutual goals required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and dimensional layout, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, Process Control Plans, 8D Corrective Action Strategy and Layered Process Audits.
