Quality Engineer - Columbus, OH

Job Description

Quality Engineer is responsible for developing the supplier base to achieve the highest quality possible. Function is to ensure quick and complete containment, root cause and countermeasure activity for all supplier suspect material and ensure supplier development through new model start up activities. Facilitate in the smooth launch of new projects and models.
  • Project planning and management for the Quality department (New Model/Special Projects/Mass Production)
  • Key quality points setting and perform event data review.
  • Complete and promote 5-S and Kaizen
  • Drive supplier training and development (Supplier improvement planning/management)
  • On time closer of new model supplier reports
  • IQS review at each event
  • Maintain new model PTC (problem tracking chart)
  • Support BQ activity
  • New Model reflection activity
  • Past Problem History
  • Review supplier prints for Key Quality Points.
  • Develop all areas of new model quality.
  • Contain and monitor disposition of new model / mass production suspect material
  • Part problem investigation / VA/VE Trials
  • Feed forward and parallel analysis on all parts issues and counter measure activities
  • Contact for parts supplier
  • Support VA/VE system for parts counter measures as needed.
  • Direct supplier problem follow-up visits
  • Conduct regular progress checks

  • Bachelor Degree Engineering
  • 2+ years of manufacturing quality experience automotive.
