The Quality Technician, under the direction of the Director of Quality, works with manufacturing and other company functions to measure the performance output of various processes to insure a high-quality output. This person will be responsible for documenting audits and inspections of product, processes and procedures; benchmarking these against the desired output levels. The Quality Technician will use the tools of an ISO/QS metrics-based system to not only determine current levels of performance, but assist with driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Part of the IFS Quality team.
Able to interact with all levels of the IFS organization (internal customers) and with the various levels of the external customer base (distributors, installers, end users).
Assists the Director of Quality with the execution of the strategic plan and the associated budgets.
Works with the Director of Quality to maintains data on the performance of the company’s products, deliveries, customer interface and feedback to drive continued improvement at IFS.
Assists with the training of production associates, supervisors, and managers in the methods required to insure repeatable product quality and performance to the customer.
Able to use a wide variety of quality inspection tools and analytical equipment to measure and analyze product and processes to ensure that the desired levels of output are being met.
Assists manufacturing with capability studies and analytical analysis of production output to help set the acceptable levels of product performance.
Technically strong, able to use quality tools like SPC, Kaizan, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause analysis, etc., to solve problems.
Part of a team that helps drive improvements that will lead to better processes and products that have a reduced risk of deviation.
Assists design engineering with the development of tooling designs, manufacturing specifications and process methods that will help insure repeatably manufactured, high quality product that meets the desired technical standards.
An Associates’ degree in a technical field is desired.
Five or more years as a quality technician in an ISO/QS driven manufacturing environment is required.
Quality training certifications desired.
Knowledge of manual and automated manufacturing methods is required. Experience with FRP manufacturing is preferred.
Able to read standard engineering product blueprints.
A team player with good communications skis.
Sound knowledge of computers and spreadsheet-based software.
Some travel may be required.
Able to manipulate items up to 20lbs. per NIOSH standards
