QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and ensuring daily compliance of our business operations to the organization’s quality procedures. This includes daily facility monitoring (e.g., clean room environment, frozen storage and production equipment calibration) and support the operation in the resolution of identified issues or risk.
- Provide verification of all products subject to the First Article Inspection process as they move from engineering development into operational manufacturing, ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Supporting operations in the identification, resolution and reporting of quality issues through the Corrective Action Report (CAR) process and the Material Review Board (MRB) supporting the wider quality team across multiple sites as required.
Key Tasks:
- Provide full verification of all products in relation to the First Article Inspection (FAI) process, reviewing and signing off approval of FAI generated reports.
- Represent the quality function by participating in Materials Review Board (MRB) meetings and provide active support to corrective action outputs and initiatives.
- Support improvement activities within the operations department whilst ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
- Produce presentation materials and reports to agreed departmental standards utilizing robust business performance data.
- Ensure all data capture, files and documents are written, named and maintained in accordance with the company Quality Management System.
- Ensure all materials received to support manufacture complete in full the standard inspection procedure raising any material nonconformities as required.-. This includes all material quarantine administration.
- Ensure all freezer data is downloaded and recorded, and any required material storage life deductions are actioned. Lead the scheduling of the freezer and production equipment calibration in line with calibration procedure.
- Provide quality support to the resolution of any cutting machine maintenance scheduling and emergency engineer call out as necessary.
- Cleanroom monitoring including daily monitoring activities (particle count, humidity, temperature etc), and support the operation in the resolution of identified issues or risk.
- Actively participate in the Internal Audit Programming as directed.
- Liaising with the Quality Assurance team with regards to all quality issues including investigations, reports and presentations.
- Support to the wider business on quality related matters as required.
- Work within terms of reference to ensure any quality and /or business reputation linked risks are identified.
- Actively manage own professional development, updating skills and networking with industry and sector contacts as appropriate.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Experience of having worked in a quality role in a multi-site manufacturing business.
- Demonstrable ability to adhere to the company’s current aerospace standards in relation to First Article Inspection (FAI) procedures and experience of working to Six Sigma and Materials Review Board (MRB) principles.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to comfortably work to predetermined standards are essential.
- Excellent communication skills essential.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, to include internal colleagues and external customers and suppliers as required.
- Skilled team player able to critique the work of colleagues in a diplomatic manner.
- Good time management with proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines by planning your own workload accordingly.
- Competent and confident user of MS Windows and Office packages including the ability to collate and prepare data for presentations using MS PowerPoint and Excel
- A full, clean and current driver's license is an advantage.
