Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, New York (Queens) has an exciting new opportunity for a Quality Assurance Calibration Technician. The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the Measuring Tool Calibration Database and selecting proper measuring tools according to manufacturing sketches, drawings, tool lists and/or specifications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform and maintain Measuring Tools and Equipment calibration
  • Prepare Requisitions for calibration for outside calibration
  • Review and interpret customer specifications
  • Conduct internal audits
  • Assist in maintaining third party accreditation, such as AS9100, Regulatory, etc.
  • Inspect, identify and correct measurement errors, test, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical and electronic precision measuring equipment to ensure measurement accuracy
  • Order new Inspection tools and spare measuring tool parts
  • Move and communicate measuring tool requirements to appropriate departments
  • Support customer audits.

Position Requirements

  • Technical college degree is preferred or High School Diploma and/or extensive experience in the specific field is considered as an alternative
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a quality department, preferably within the aerospace industry
  • Familiar with ISO9001, AS9100, and Quality Management Systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices
  • Proficient in Excel and Word a plus
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, specifications and blueprints
