Summit Employment is seeking a Purchasing Agent. Ideal candidate will have experience purchasing raw material, hardware, equipment, production supplies and services necessary for the efficient operation of a full-service aircraft parts manufacturer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
  • Developing profitable purchasing strategies.
  • Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two years experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop setting
  • MS Office

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills a must
  • Capability to run and read planning reports
Hours: Mon. - Fri., 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
