An established custom parts manufacturer in SW Saskatchewan has engaged our assistance to find an experienced Purchaser to join their highly successful and established custom manufacturing/fabrication shop.

You will work closely with multiple internal departments to ensure materials are continually available for their production team with competitive pricing strategies. Our client's established product mix means they have predictable, repeatable orders regularly (mid-volume run/lower product mix), along with periodic specialty orders with shorter lead times (low volume run/high product mix).

Your skills are required to ensure materials are available and that their supply processes are established and maintained.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Purchase materials for production, engineering, and others using a Purchase Order system
  • Source materials, negotiate price, delivery, specifications, and quantity with suppliers
  • Ensure materials are in-place for planned projects/orders
  • Maintain vendor relationships and agreement documentation; vendor standards
  • Maintain stock inventories and database entries
  • Address shipment discrepancies, freight damage, non-conformances, etc
  • Attend and participate in meetings
  • Define, release, and evaluate bid packages; manage ROP's and ROQ's
To ensure the highest probability of success in this position, the following requirements have been identified:
  • Knowledge of MRP system (MAX experience ideal)
  • 3+ years' purchasing experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Positive and constructive attitude
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • A mechanical aptitude beneficial
  • Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)
Soft-skilled generally required for a Purchaser with this client include:
