Overview
A Punch Press Operator is responsible for operating punch press machines to shape and form metal or other materials into parts and products according to specifications. This role involves setting up the machines, performing production runs, conducting quality checks, and ensuring safety standards are met. The Punch Press Operator plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation:

  • Operate punch press machines to produce parts and components according to work orders and specifications.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and adjust settings for each production run.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and product quality.

• Machine Setup and Adjustment:

  • Install and adjust dies, fixtures, and other components for different production runs.
  • Set machine parameters and controls to meet production requirements.
  • Conduct test runs to ensure accurate setup and make necessary adjustments.

• Quality Control:

  • Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to check dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document inspection results and report any deviations or defects.

• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on punch press machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or issues.
  • Make minor repairs or adjustments as needed and report major issues to maintenance personnel.
