Currently seeking a talented and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a great opportunity in Northern NC area. The ideal candidate will possess 2 years of current experience working in an acute care hospital and have 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health department.

Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

  • Performs psychiatric and physical assessments, including interviewing patients to obtain complete medical histories as well as ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests and examinations
  • Assumes preceptor roles and other supervision responsibilities for Nurse Practitioner students, Mental Health Counselor, RNs and Psychiatric-Mental Health nursing students as requested
  • Facilitate new patient consultation and health history review
  • Perform psychiatric examinations and screenings of patients
  • Deliver quality care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics
  • Perform a comprehensive initial assessment for newly enrolled patients
  • Support the health care team

Requirements of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

  • The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved Master’s Program in Nursing with completion of a post-graduate certificate Nurse Practitioner program
  • PMHNP required
  • currently, RN licensed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to display a positive team-player attitude
  • Ability to promote positive patient advocacy
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care
  • Nurse Practitioner in the state of North Carolina
  • 2 years of current experience working in an acute care hospital
  • 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health department
