Property Controller

CBIZ Talent & Compensation Solutions is assisting our real estate client in their search for a Property Controller in New York City, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for external and internal use
  • Liaison with partners, lenders and CPA firms
  • Monitor daily cash activity, bank reconciliations and cash forecasts
  • Coordinating debt service payments, including lender reserves, and supporting compliance reporting
  • Assist in budget preparation and review
  • Review and approve A/P
  • Review and prepare necessary workpaper reconciliations to balance sheet and income statement
  • Review and analyze general ledgers, process journal entries and assess monthly accruals
  • Prepare income statement variance analysis and balance sheet analysis
  • Prepare monthly cash forecast reports
  • Review and confirm daily cash receipts etc.
  • Assist in year-end audit process by working with CPA firms
  • Other ad hoc reporting/analysis as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of property accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with investors and team members.
  • Proficiency in Yardi
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Compensation is between $120,000 - $140,000K
