Job Description
We are working with a client in Denver that has an immediate need for a Property Accountant. The ideal candidate will have experience with Full-cycle property accrual accounting including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, journal entries, G/L review and financial statement preparation. - Prepares monthly reporting package within establish deadlines
- Reconciles all bank account associated each property in assigned portfolio on a monthly basis.
- Ensure all member accounts are billed correctly each month for all dues, late fees and covenant violations in accordance with the governing documents and per Board Member and/or Property Manager direction
- Assists in the development of the operating budget for each HOA
- Responds to and resolved issues and requests of Board Members, Property Managers, Lenders and Member
- Follows standard policies and procedures to ensure internal and external reporting requirements are met
- Prepares year-end financials and notes for CPA preparation of tax returns
- Prepares 1099’s
- Provides all necessary documentation for annual audit and assist auditors as needed
- Assists with new client set up
- Ad hoc and special projects as needed
Necessary Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance with minimum of three years’ experience
- Effective verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
- Self- motivated, proactive, detail-oriented team player
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite with Intermediate Xcel skills
Preferred Skills
- HOA accounting experience
- Knowledge of Community Association rules and regulations
- Real Estate accounting software
