Position Overview:
The Property Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and cash management services for a portfolio of real estate assets. This role involves preparing financial packages, working closely with property managers, and ensuring compliance with internal and external deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly financial statement packages, including GL and income statement reviews, reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.

Manage bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, and amortization schedules.

Oversee cash management to ensure timely payments of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and distributions.

Review and post cash receipts; process vendor invoices for payment.

Collaborate with property management teams to provide financial support and analysis.

Assist with audit processes and prepare reserve draw requests.

Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

1–4 years of accounting experience; real estate industry experience preferred.

Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with client-facing ability.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Experience with Yardi or similar accounting software preferred.

Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
