Role Description

The Specialist is responsible for all safety related needs on a project. This role reviews and engages team members onsite, ensuring proper preparedness and execution of safety protocols and procedures. This Specialist works with the client and the Territory Safety Lead to ensure Frontline is meeting and exceeding the safety program goals while completing the necessary reporting. This Specialist may also perform yard duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and support to Craft in DPP and OAT engagement.
  • Reviews all work activities on site during their shift to promote safe work practices and appropriate PPE usage.
  • Completes all necessary internal and external safety related documentation and paperwork as it relates to their shift and phase of work.
  • Completes yard duties as needed to support Frontline’s operations.

Tasks & Duties

  • Safety Engagement
    • Engages craft in stretch and flex activity prior to engaging in daily work.
    • Facilitates execution of the DPP program in collaboration with the Project Lead.
    • Monitors all PPE usage across the jobsite throughout their shift, correcting coworkers and ensuring proper supplies are available to maintain a safe working environment onsite.
    • Facilitates delivery of OATs as designated by the Project and Field Lead to ensure each member of the field team is prepared for their phase of work in a safe and effective manner.
  • Safety Reporting
    • Completes all required safety reporting for the shift of work they are supervising in accordance with the customer’s stated safety program.
    • Communicates Frontline’s safety activity to the customer as needed.
    • Reports all incidents to Field, Project, and Territory Safety Lead with adequate documentation (details, actions, results, recommendations).
    • Completes and provides post-observation documentation to Operations and Project teams as directed.
  • Yard Duties
    • Performs yard management duties as needed.
    • Completes documentation to track material intake or delivery.
    • Coordinates with project teams to move equipment and material on or offsite.

Competencies

  • Capable of walking and traversing a jobsite at all hours.
  • Holds OSHA 30 Certification
  • Can lift heavy materials and move equipment throughout a jobsite or equipment/materials yard.
  • Willing to work odd hours (3rd shift) and overtime when needed.
  • CHST certification desired

Metrics & KPI’s

  • Safety incident rates during shift.
  • Completion of customer safety program requirements.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $60,000 and $80,000 annualized. Additional compensation in the form of a vehicle allowance, profit sharing, and company benefits may also be included.
