Job Description: Business Analyst/PMO

Project Description

This position is for a PM/BA working on the suite of projects. The candidate will be interfacing with other platform teams, defining business and functional requirements, driving issue analysis and resolution, recommending solutions, evangelizing corporate policies and standards, and helping to promote the overall program strategy.

The Candidate would play a lead supporting role in the execution of the program with the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the business case, requirements elicitation, fit/gap analysis and preparation of functional design documents
  • When necessary, writing unambiguous, verified requirements to a testable level (functional and non-functional)
  • Participating on multi-disciplinary work teams to achieve successful execution of complex implementation projects
  • Adhering to corporate policies and procedures (e.g. SDLC, Data Governance, etc.)
  • Facilitating ongoing execution of enterprise standards for data, metrics, definitions, dimensions, hierarchies and presentation including metric rationalization
  • Ensuring that business needs are met in a disciplined and consistent manner
  • Maintaining a governance and quality scorecard to monitor ongoing program activities
  • Investigating issues by executing queries, synthesizing analysis and translating the details for presentation to business partners
  • Helping to coordinate the completion of corrective actions to resolve issues
  • Maintaining existing issue reporting processes (e.g. Service Portal, ALM) and enforcing an issue management workflow
  • Coordinating the tracking and documentation of all technical documents
  • Assisting in maintaining a firm-wide data traceability map documenting business concepts and data owners, consumers, presenters, and access methods

The candidate should be flexible, highly adaptable and an excellent team player. The role requires credibility and confidence interacting with senior management, business unit personnel, and the technology team across the full lifecycle of a project. The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team along with NY and India team members, sometimes across multiple time zones.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and should be able to work under minimal supervision.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SharePoint Services
  • Modeling processes using various notation (Use cases, Activity Diagrams, Business Process, Modeling Notation, Workflows, Swimlanes)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from a top tier university
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, specifically for Advisory Managed Accounts products/trading
  • 5+ years hands-on experience performing detailed analysis and requirements specifications creation for complex data discrepancies
  • 5+ years of experience in system & application integration
