Role Summary
The Project Manager, reporting directly to the Project Director, will be responsible for the comprehensive management of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and according to our high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, contract administrators, and design consultants to encourage repeat business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, leading project meetings and site visits.
- Analyze project documentation to prepare effective work plans and strategies.
- Manage project budgets, including the review of estimates and procurement negotiations.
- Secure all necessary materials and subcontract services, ensuring projects remain within financial guidelines.
- Obtain all required permits, approvals, and notices to advance construction plans.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements and ensure all project activities adhere to safety standards.
- Monitor daily project progress, manage invoices, and maintain alignment with project budgets.
- Schedule and conduct regular meetings with subcontractors to ensure coherent project advancement.
- Apply for and manage the process for project completion, adhering to applicable legislation.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred) or Construction Management, supplemented by relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5-10 years experience in the construction industry, specifically in civil construction.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Effective at multitasking, with excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software, Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft Project is beneficial.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Puerto Rico – no work permit sponsorship is available for this position.
