Project Manager
Peterson Consulting Group is actively hiring a Construction Project Manager in the Denver area to support complex heavy civil and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a Project Manager who understands how civil work is executed in the field and can successfully lead projects from preconstruction through close-out, while managing cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder expectations.
This opportunity is well-suited for a leader who can partner with field leadership, manage subcontractors and vendors, and drive results on DOT, municipal, and private infrastructure projects involving wet utilities, earthwork, and civil construction scopes.
What You’ll Do

Lead project teams while upholding company values, culture, and operational standards

Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, work orders, and performance benchmarks

Maintain full financial ownership of projects, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and revenue tracking

Coordinate procurement activities, subcontractor buyout, and material purchasing to optimize cost and schedule

Oversee construction progress to ensure compliance with budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements

Serve as the primary point of contact between owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors

Manage contracts, change orders, revisions, and scope adjustments throughout the project lifecycle

Oversee project documentation including submittals, RFIs, transmittals, pay applications, and close-out packages

Conduct jobsite walks and partner with superintendents to enforce safety and quality standards

Monitor production and provide real-time feedback to field leadership and crews
Essential Duties

Develop and maintain the Project Work Order (PWO) and overall project schedule

Obtain required permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals

Lead preconstruction meetings, project kickoffs, and owner updates

Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure compliance with contract terms

Review and approve timecards, supplier invoices, and change orders

Manage project billing, cost tracking, and revenue projections

Support continuous improvement efforts and ongoing professional development
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management

Experience managing wet utilities, earthwork, and infrastructure scopes

Strong financial acumen and contract management experience

Proficiency with construction management and estimating software (e.g., Viewpoint, HeavyBid) and Microsoft Office

PMP, CCM, OSHA, or similar certifications are a plus

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
