JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a (Materials) Project Manager in Shelby Township MI. Our client is a machining shop. The (Materials) Project Manager is responsible for managing the procurement, planning, and logistics of materials needed for various projects.

Responsibilities of a (Materials) Project Manager includes:

• Oversee the purchasing of raw materials, components, and supplies required for project execution.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
• Ensure all procurement activities align with budgetary constraints.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking of materials.
• Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and manage transportation resources.
• Address and resolve supply chain disruptions, delays, or issues

Job Requirements of a (Materials) Project Manager:

• Proven experience in materials management, procurement, or project management, typically 5+ years.
• Strong knowledge of materials management processes, including sourcing, logistics, and inventory control.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
