There is currently a Project Management Office within the organization that contains the Project Management Team. The rest of the Development groups are split into two teams, with one focused on a kiosk product, and the other focused on a testing application product. Within those groups that are Analysts and Developers that work exclusively on those products. The Project Managers work within both groups as well as separate PMO projects as needed.

It is important to have a strong sense of Project Management structure and procedure, as this company operates a fairly by-the-books operation.

Examples of potential Projects:

· Adding new products (testing, or kiosks, or plates)

· Adding a new transaction

· Adding new code

All projects have some form of Technical work – All projects involve a level of coding or similar development.

There is a big drive to have as many certified PMs as possible on staff. The company is able to bill at a higher rate for certified Project Managers, so they assist in getting the PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute.
