Purpose

  • Provide Project Management for medium-sized client projects and project teams, and/or internal projects as assigned, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure that all internal and external projects are completely and accurately represented in Changepoint, and all other financial and reporting systems.
  • Continuous improvement of our client’s solution delivery capabilities, and sharing of related knowledge and best practices with the PM community.
  • Assist in service estimation and solution sales processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including management of scope, budget, risk, resources, plan/timeline, internal communications and external client communications. Leads project teams and is responsible and accountable for overall success of project.
  • Determines staffing needs for projects, and works with resource management and other project managers to coordinate assignment of staff to projects. This may include working with a small number of subcontractors and/or partners in a relatively simple fashion as needed.
  • Encourages and fosters individual professional growth, as well as teamwork among project staff.
  • Works with pre-sales, Business Unit Manager, and Legal to prepare services contracts.
  • Ensures all assigned projects comply with our internal processes. (e.g. as documented within PMO).
  • Participates in, or leads knowledge-sharing activities and makes contributions to internal knowledge-base. This may include working with and/or providing presentations to Services, Marketing, Sales, and Pre-sales groups.
  • May assist or shadow other Project Managers in large projects.
  • Ensures internal and external client, escalation procedures are followed in a timely manner for prompt problem resolution on projects.
  • Proactively maintains an understanding of our client’s solutions and architectures, including competitive analysis. Develops a deeper level of understanding as needed to meet project requirements. This may include building and maintaining strong ties with other corporate resources such as R&D, Marketing, driver teams and technical support.
  • Works with pre-sales to help qualify solution sales opportunities. Provides services time/effort estimates and project plans for use in proposals.
  • Provides client presentations regarding internal methodologies, value propositions, and project management processes.
  • Builds new and leverages existing client contacts to identify new business opportunities.
  • Provides input into consulting group processes and procedures.
  • Mentors other Project Managers as assigned.
  • Increased responsibility for incorporating subcontractors, partner resources and partner processes into projects as determined by client/partner needs.
  • Participates in Project Management team review of PMO processes, and actively develops/contributes material to PMO as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated breadth of project management skills with minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-person applications development projects or equivalent, preferably in a vendor/competitive sales environment serving external clients.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing IT related projects in a vendor setting.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project.
  • Ability to conceptualize client needs and translate into specific implementation strategies.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills.
  • A combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
  • Ability to travel.
