Project Manager – Civil/Environmental Engineer

Our client is looking for a full-time Project Manager with strong organizational, supervisory, and technical skills to oversee all aspects of Water/Wastewater Utility projects. This role includes responsibilities in business development, client management, project oversight, presentations, conceptual design, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Serve as Project Manager within multidisciplinary design teams, collaborating with architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and clients.
  • Project Management: Develop, negotiate, and manage project scope, contracts, planning, schedules, budgets, change orders, and billing.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with various disciplines within the firm, other project managers, and business development teams.
  • Standards & Compliance: Research, interpret, and ensure adherence to company and client requirements, standards, and templates.
  • Site Visits: Periodically travel for business development and project management activities, including the preparation or review of related reports and exhibits.
  • Documentation: Oversee and assist with compiling construction plans from all disciplines and ensure timely submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes across projects.
  • Client Management: Manage relationships with clients and oversee national account programs.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly updates to clients and firm leadership on project performance concerning quality, status, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in successfully managing Utility Design and Construction projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in the design and permitting of utility projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and pump stations. Experience with WaterCAD and SewerCAD is preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in design, value engineering, and regulatory compliance, with robust analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required; experience with Smartsheet and Deltek is a plus.
  • Project Management: In-depth understanding of the project lifecycle from concept to construction, with the ability to develop and maintain effective schedules and budgets.
  • Leadership: Ability to exercise good judgment, provide clear instructions, prioritize tasks, build consensus, and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Teamwork: Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional social, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
  • Flexibility: Adaptable to changes in work schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented, quality-focused, reliable, and self-motivated.
