Job Description:
The Project Estimator is responsible for leading and organizing all estimating and preconstruction activities for assigned construction projects. Reporting to the Building Group Director of Pre-Construction, the Estimator develops cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and proposals, while actively cultivating relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients. They are instrumental in preparing comprehensive bid packages, including detailed bid breakdowns, quantity take-offs, and preconstruction schedules. Once a project is awarded, the Estimator ensures a smooth transition by supporting the Project Manager through handoff meetings, contract reviews, and ongoing coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Success in this role requires a combination of technical construction knowledge, financial acumen, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate is self-directed, organized, and able to operate in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. A minimum of three years of construction estimating experience is expected, along with a strong grasp of building codes, laws, and financial practices. Salary Range: $85,000–$115,000 plus bonuses and a $3,000 employee referral bonus.
