Senior Design/Project Engineer

Responsibility

  • Provide leadership, coaching, management, coordination, and positive motivation for the team members while emphasizing team work in sync
  • Make sure to meet or exceed established goals and KPIs
  • Ensure lean, effective, efficient, and on-time process of jobs without any engineering errors
  • Schedule tasks and jobs to the team members
  • Support customers, manufacturing, Sales and PMs with accurate quotes, drawings, prelims, custom parts, and final job checks
  • Send approval packages to customers on time and release jobs to the plants on schedule
  • Ensure all engineers are cross-trained to do take-offs, full drawing packages, releasing jobs, and design product
  • Develop and sustain high performance engineering team focused on excellence in engineering
  • Focus on continuous improvement and lean product development to become a world-class company
  • Complete assigned task and support engineering initiatives assigned by VP of Engineering
  • Follow company and department policies, procedures, and protocols

Authority

  • Prepare the engineering team to support the current business needs and established goals
  • Reassign engineering team members based on the works load and scheduling to be more efficient as the work load shifts
  • Require correct and accurate information from customers and sales teams for a seamless release to the plants
  • Push production dates back if customer or sales deadlines are not met or required information is not provided

Accountability

  • Ensure customers, sales, and manufacturing plants are supported with correct and on-time job releases
  • Sustain engineering processes, drawing standards, and Lean principles, and minimize engineering “W” orders
  • Create a positive place for all the engineers to work and to cultivate their skills to be more self-reliant
  • Discipline, performance, attendance, behavior of team members
  • Ensure company and department goals and initiatives are met and completed on time

Min. Qualification Requirements

  • Sc. degree in engineering plus minimum 5+ years of engineering experience or professional engineers license
