We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.

About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a well-established food manufacturer with a strong multi-site production footprint and a recognized presence in its category. The business supports a broad customer base and continues to invest in innovation, operational excellence, and long-term growth. This Capital Projects Engineer role is a key addition to the engineering team. The person stepping into this position will help lead capital projects from concept through execution, beginning with smaller projects to learn the organization, build relationships, and understand internal processes before taking on broader ownership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys full life cycle project management in a food production environment. The role offers visibility across engineering, operations, production, maintenance, product development, and leadership, with the chance to support both ongoing plant improvements and new line development.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage capital projects from early concept through implementation and handoff to production or maintenance.
  • Start with smaller projects to learn the business, key stakeholders, and internal project process.
  • Gradually take ownership of a broader project portfolio as you become established in the role.
  • Support new line development and other growth-focused initiatives.
  • Partner with commercialization and product development teams to scope and price projects.
  • Present projects to leadership for capital approval.
  • Lead equipment specification, purchasing, and factory acceptance testing.
  • Oversee multiple projects at once, with project values ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar investments.
  • Work closely with continuous improvement, operations, and cross-functional teams to keep projects moving effectively.
  • Ensure projects are set up for a smooth transition into plant operations.

Who You Are
You’re a project-minded engineer who can move between technical detail and practical execution. You know how to stay organized, communicate clearly, and keep momentum across a range of priorities. You work well with different personalities and understand how to build credibility across all levels of an organization. This role fits someone who brings energy, adaptability, and a sense of humor to the work, especially when navigating challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’re likely someone who enjoys being visible, collaborative, and hands-on while still thinking strategically about timelines, budgets, and long-term operational success.

Preferred Experience & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering or capital project experience is a strong benchmark.
  • Food or beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Full life cycle capital project management experience required.
  • Experience working in regulated food production environments is strongly valued.
  • USDA experience is preferred.
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to leadership and communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the business.

Why This Role Matters
This position plays an important role in helping the business execute strategic capital investments across its manufacturing network. From plant improvements to new production capability, the work in this role directly supports growth, operational performance, and long-term scalability. It’s also a chance to join a team with meaningful project volume already in motion. For the right engineer, this is an opportunity to step into a visible role, lead impactful projects, and help shape what comes next.
