Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sales Director of an asset-based transportation and rigging company, who is an industry-leader in engineered transport, rigging / heavy lift & structure relocation. With locations strategically positions throughout the US, they competitively serve the North American, Central American, and the Caribbean markets
The Project Development Specialist is responsible for identifying new sales leads in the industry; Interface with clients during the sales, execution and close out portions of the project; Find and follow up on new business opportunities; Preparing job quotes for review from management; Attend site visits and gather information as needed for estimates and proposals; Create and execute an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives; Prospect leads with existing and new customers; Create and deliver solutions and proposal presentations to the customer; Coordinate front-end project development with Operations; Maintain contacts, accounts and sales development progress in Salesforce; Attend Weekly Sales meetings.

Background Required:
  • Proven track record within the Heavy Lift and/or Heavy Transport Industry (5 years)
  • Strong ability for Business Development including prospecting new business and closing
  • Prior sales experience dealing with corporate level clients
  • Industry contacts & relationships
  • Strong geographical knowledge (of competition, shippers/receivers, economic trends)
  • Time and territory management
  • Effective selling techniques via phone and electronic communication
  • Engineering drawings interpretation
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) software (i.e. ACT, Sales Force)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Location: Houston, TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Heavy Lift or Heavy Transport operations
  • Higher Education: College Degree
