Production Supervisor

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 4:00 PM–Midnight
Compensation: Approximately $55,000–$60,000 annually, depending on experience
Position: Full-time, salaried

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on 2nd Shift Production & Equipment Lead for our manufacturing operation.

This person will serve as the primary lead for our second-shift production team and will combine three responsibilities:

1. Hands-on production work
2. Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of our die-cutting equipment
3. Leadership and oversight of second-shift production employees

This is not a desk-management position. The ideal candidate enjoys working with machinery, solving mechanical problems, working alongside employees, and making sure production goals are being met.

Primary Responsibilities

Hands-On Production

• Spend approximately a few hours each shift operating our product-gluing process.
• Work directly alongside production employees as needed.
• Help keep production moving and orders on schedule.
• Become knowledgeable about the complete manufacturing workflow.

Equipment & Die Cutters

• Monitor die-cutting equipment throughout the shift.
• Troubleshoot equipment when it is not operating correctly.
• Perform mechanical adjustments, repairs, and routine preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose problems and determine whether they can be repaired internally or require outside service.
• Identify worn or failed components and assist with replacement parts.
• Become the primary second-shift resource for keeping production equipment operational.

Previous experience with our specific die cutters is not required. Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and experience working with machinery are more important.

Second-Shift Leadership

• Serve as the primary person responsible for the production floor during second shift.
• Direct employees and assign work based on production priorities.
• Make sure employees remain productive and complete assigned work.
• Monitor production progress throughout the shift.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, quality, and productivity.
• Communicate equipment, production, and personnel issues to management.
• Make reasonable day-to-day decisions necessary to keep production operating without requiring constant direction.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will:

• Have strong mechanical aptitude.
• Have experience operating, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Be comfortable working with tools and making mechanical adjustments and repairs.
• Have leadership experience or demonstrate the ability to lead a small production team.
• Be dependable and comfortable taking responsibility for the facility during second shift.
• Be organized and capable of prioritizing work.
• Take ownership of problems rather than simply reporting them.
• Be willing to work hands-on alongside employees.
• Be comfortable working independently without management constantly present.
• Understand that this is a working-lead position, not a desk-supervisor position.
