POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor oversees the production process, ensuring the efficient mixing, preparation, and baking of bread and pastry products. This role is responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards within the department while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals.
Work Schedule
- Shift Structure: 8-hour shifts.
- Roster: 5 working days followed by 2 days off.
- Shift Times: 5am-1pm, 1pm-9pm, 9pm-5am.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise employees in the preparation and baking of bakery products while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Develop and maintain production plans, incorporating staffing, training, efficiency modeling, and process optimization.
- Implement and adjust production recipes to maintain product quality within established specifications.
- Coordinate with warehousing, quality assurance, packaging, and logistics to ensure timely product shipment.
- Ensure high standards of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and housekeeping within the department.
- Monitor raw material quality and finished products through lab data review.
- Collaborate with QA, materials management, IT, and HR to support the production team.
- Work with other manufacturing teams and logistics to prioritize and fulfill orders efficiently.
- Recommend and implement process, facility, or equipment improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Manage workflow, material movement, and space utilization to optimize production operations.
- Oversee and conduct training for new and existing employees, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Monitor utility usage for operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all quality requirements and maintain proper documentation for quality systems.
- Serve as a liaison for pest control and oversee plant sanitation procedures.
- Train and supervise sanitation staff, ensuring compliance with cleaning protocols.
- Accompany GMP auditors and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement aligned with company quality policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams to assess environmental impacts and establish improvement goals.
- Schedule and oversee the calibration of plant measuring instruments.
- Support research and development initiatives as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment in line with company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) CXC O’ Level passes, including Mathematics and English.
- 2–3 years of experience in the retail or food production industry (preferred).
- Supervisory and mediation skills are considered valuable assets.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
