Production Superintendent

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Production Superintendent to join our leadership team at our Englehart, Ontario Oriented Strand Board (OSB) manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, and with responsibility for the oversight, mentoring, and coaching of the Team (Shift) Leaders, this role will have a direct impact on the successful attainment of our safety, quality, and production goals. What You Will Do In Your Role

• Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, production, problem solving, and technical and interpersonal communication skills.
• Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership and performance management.
• Partner with plant leadership to enhance facility performance and metrics - lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative practices, methods and procedures that add value for the facility
• Drive improvement through influential leadership by demonstrating strong oral/written communication skills, knowledge of basic accounting concepts, analytical and critical thinking skills, team building, and effective problem solving.
• Spend time on the floor engaging with employees and oversee plant operations as appropriate.
• This role will have to fill in for the Team Leaders from time to time.

Requirements:

• Supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Previous success growing capability, driving accountability, and building trust with your team.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Wood Products manufacturing operations leadership experience with multiple direct reports
• Experience with a CMMS system (such as MP2)
