We are looking for a Shift Lead for the Rockwood, TN area. Pay is $52-65K, plus full benefits, 401K, etc. In this role, the Shift Lead is responsible for leading production associates to achieve operational goals across multiple processes to meet on-time delivery. The position executes the production plan, allocates job assignments, maintains timelines and ensures parts are produced efficiently and on schedule. The Shift Lead’s will work closely with the Department Leads to create a safe, productive work environment that produces quality products and meets customer demands.


  • Provide day to day direction and leadership to the shift
  • Execute production plan by working with department lead to establish priorities, scheduling, delegating workloads and adjusting assignments as necessary
  • Monitor department performance metrics and take appropriate actions to drive results
  • Conduct regular process audits to verify product quality and standard work compliance
  • Improves work processes through continuous improvement initiatives by developing, implementing and supporting solutions / strategies to increase productivity, reduce scrap and improve operations
  • Communicate associate performance and provide regular feedback; recognize strong performers, coach poor performances and communicate disciplinary action as needed
  • Engage in hiring decisions and new hire orientation
  • Assist in the coordination of associate training to meet production requirements, build skill flexibility and promote personal development
  • Prepare and submit reports on a daily basis
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Work closely with all department to meet site operation goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and upper management


  • Associate Degree or related years of experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a powdered metal facility.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement
  • Able to analyze performance metrics and develop improvement plans
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to effectively confront and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and achieve results through others
  • Proven metric-based track record
  • Exceptional computer skills: MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
