We are seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team at a prestigious metal manufacturing company based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is pivotal in managing and ensuring the efficient execution of production schedules, optimizing material flow and machine efficiency, and achieving on-time delivery of products. The ideal candidate will be an expert in handling complex scheduling scenarios, keen on continuous improvement and efficient resource usage, making sure that the production aligns with the strategic objectives of our company.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setup, monitor, and maintain the master production schedule for all assigned value streams to ensure alignment with production plans.
- Analyze material loading and scheduling to optimize machine efficiency, setup times, and inventory levels.
- Ensure orders are delivered on time and in full through systematic verification processes.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through best practices in inventory management, including cycle counts and verifying shipping/receiving of raw materials.
- Distribute and ensure adherence to daily and weekly finite production schedules.
- Communicate all schedule adjustments that impact product flow to relevant personnel promptly and effectively.
- Utilize lean tools and daily management systems to make problems visible and employ root cause problem solving to prevent recurrence.
- Work collaboratively across departments to support and achieve broader company goals and improve inter-company communication.
- Become the point of contact for expertise in scheduling and inventory systems and tools, ensuring the voice of the customer is prominent on the production floor.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage master production schedules in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven track record of improving delivery performance and efficiency in production settings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Evidence of continued education or certification in production management or related field is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean or Six Sigma certification highly desirable.
- Experience with complex manufacturing environments and varied product lines.
- Advanced proficiency with inventory management software and scheduling tools.
- Ability to train and support others in schedule planning and inventory management best practices.
- Experience in metal manufacturing or similar industrial settings is preferred.

- Proficient in use of ERP systems and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex schedules and systems to diverse audiences.
