Job Description:

The Production Planner & Scheduler is responsible for coordinating, developing and optimizing production schedules and to achieve company goals and customer satisfaction. The Production Planner & Scheduler will monitor production process, direct and interact with floor supervisors and employees.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing ERP system, review demand and build daily/weekly master schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Recommend employee and material resources accordingly to meet deadlines and customer needs.
  • Form action plans to optimize shipments and maintain visibility to the floor.
  • Act as a liaison between the manufacturing and purchasing departments.
  • Maintain up to date communication to Sales of any schedule changes.
  • Analyze past and present data to generate reports and create more effective schedules.
  • Take stock of inventory levels and facilitate providing necessary materials and components.
  • Install controls to keep inventory levels accurate – oversee cycle counting
  • Expedite raw material as necessary with Purchasing.
  • Maintain the integrity of the ERP system that it reflects actual conditions on the shop floor.
  • Communicate with all departments professionally and timely.
  • May need to be a resource in case of production problems that need to be resolved immediately.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Management or relevant field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 Years’ experience in a production environment.
  • Management Resource Planning (MRP) experience.

  • Computer Skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must write legibly.
