Production Manager

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing and directing all operations activities to achieve safe, efficient and economical production within established manufacturing costs; and to maintain the highest standards of quality and volume requirements. As Operations Manager you will also lead continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor. The ideal candidate should have proven operational effectiveness at a leadership level of a manufacturing plant, possess excellent people management skills, have lean manufacturing certification and proven success in managing process improvement projects. Experience working in the Flexible Packaging industry is highly desired.

Principal Accountabilities:
Identify and implement creative cost reduction opportunities
As a member of the Senior Plant Staff, develop short and long-term plans, policies, programs, operating procedures and objectives
Delegate responsibilities, provide guidance and give direction to the Floor Supervision and Operations co-workers
Maintain close surveillance over operations through reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure integration of workflow, timely production, budgetary conformance and utilization of personal skills and machines
Assist and advise others to resolve problems and implement permanent corrective action
Act as a liaison between co-workers and management team to keep people informed on matters of communication, decisions and policies
Administer or assist in coordination of various programs such as, housekeeping, cost reduction, plant security, staffing and hourly wage administration, continuous improvement, 6S Assist in the interview process for administrative, managerial and supervisory positions
Ensure all plant productivity, quality and safety goals are achieved
Ensure all quality and process procedures are followed at all levels in Production department
Ensure spending does not exceed budget Identify target performance levels for plant awards program; challenge team to achieve goals
Support Six Sigma/Lean efforts
Establish accurate production standards, monitor productivity performance regularly Work with the maintenance, R&D, Logistics, and Engineering teams so that the teams are completely integrated into and always in support of operational objectives

Minimum 5 years management experience and college completed degree is a must.
