Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Directing production planning and scheduling process according to sales volume, sales mix, inventory requirements, and materials availability.
  • Planning day-to-day operations, assigning manpower, authorizing overtime, and controlling costs.
  • Monitoring production yields on a daily basis; making adjustments as necessary to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures needed to achieve the business unit's strategic operating goals.
  • Performing capacity planning with respect to equipment, floor space and manpower requirements in accordance with forecasted workload.
  • Building and developing team approaches to problem solving and continuous improvement concepts within the assigned area.
  • Producing and maintaining measures of performance to graphically display performance-related strengths and weaknesses within the cell.
  • Monitoring, controlling, and reporting on the cell's capital expenditures in relation to budgeted amounts.
  • Performing administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the cell, including the selection of employees, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling / motivation, organizational goals & objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the cell.
  • Actively participating in the business unit management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
  • Exercising authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
  • Carrying out special projects as assigned.
  • May perform cell production tasks as required, depending on cell size and technical qualifications.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing or supervising staff in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma preferred, with preference given to Business, Engineering, and/or Sciences related education
  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow company instructions, company processes, administrative policies and procedures, and export compliance regulations.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with Lean Green Belt, or equivalent Lean Manufacturing training
