Production Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the production process to ensure efficient and timely output.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Implement and maintain production standards and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate production staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor team members, identifying opportunities for skills enhancement and career advancement.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide updates, and address any issues.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline production operations.
- Ensure all production activities comply with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and labor, to optimize production output.
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on production performance, including output, efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Relocation provided. $150K-$175K.
Requirements
- The Production Manager will have a BS degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 15 + years of experience in chemical engineering and 5+in a production / operations management role within a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience with greenfield / startups a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of chemical production processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Continuous and Batch processes and unit operations including batch and continuous manufacturing, reaction engineering, distillation, filtration, heating/cooling, crystallization, drying and mixing processes.
- Proficiency in production planning and management software.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
