Production Manager

Our client, a manufacturer of premium paints and coatings, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their team.

Summary:
Directs the manufacturing of all products using established production processes, manpower and equipment to produce products that meet quality standards, delivery dates, and cost standards. Ensures the timely manufacturing of coatings through the optimization of materials, manpower and production capacities to achieve plant operating and profit objectives.

Responsibilities:
· Lead/Direct/Support/Improve Plant Environmental, Health and Safety performance of facility
· Lead productivity and efficiency initiatives to improve capacity and production capability
· Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles in improving departmental performance
· Manage manufacturing costs of department to meet/exceed budgetary commitments
· Engage all levels of operation (floor operators, team leads) to improve departmental excellence
· Interact with Technical and Quality Control teams to improve product quality and consistency

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages approximately 25 -30 employees within the department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:
· Project Management experience preferred.
· 5+ years industrial work experience in a manufacturing or technology delivery environment. Experience working in a chemical environment preferred. Experience working with architectural and/or industrial coatings highly preferred.
