The Production Manager role reports directly to the Plant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the overall production process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs
• Deliver the optimal technological process of clinker/cement production to deliver the consistently high-quality product at the lowest possible cost
• Assess and make recommendations regarding processes and equipment
• Monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot issues
• Prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts to ensure consistent, effective, and well understood processes
• Project management
• Collaborate on risk assessments
• Manage and lead the production department work and people
• Collaborate with the laboratory to monitor and improve efficiency
• Ensure the flow of production processes meet local regulations and permit requirements
• Conduct error analysis and deduce opportunities for improvements
• Help improve the reliability and performance of the plant
• Participate at the development and follow-up the Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) Plan
• Collaborate with the Corporate Technical Center to share and implement leading practices
• Assist and coordinate with the Purchasing department for effective ordering of spare parts
• Develop the technical and leadership capability of operators and Production Supervisors
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years of cement plant operating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in process and project engineering
• Progressive responsibility experience in production management including prior supervisory experience
• Motivation, ability, and willingness to be on-call as required including participation in the weekend coverage rotation, to ensure the continuity of plant operations
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational problems with cement manufacturing equipment
• Strong PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and inventory control software
• Experience in dealing with labor relations matters and administering collective bargaining agreements
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills
