The Production Manager role reports directly to the Plant Manager.

- Ensure the overall production process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs
- Deliver the optimal technological process of clinker/cement production to deliver the consistently high-quality product at the lowest possible cost
- Assess and make recommendations regarding processes and equipment
- Monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot issues
- Prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts to ensure consistent, effective, and well understood processes
- Project management
- Collaborate on risk assessments
- Manage and lead the production department work and people
- Collaborate with the laboratory to monitor and improve efficiency
- Ensure the flow of production processes meet local regulations and permit requirements
- Conduct error analysis and deduce opportunities for improvements
- Help improve the reliability and performance of the plant
- Participate at the development and follow-up the Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) Plan
- Collaborate with the Corporate Technical Center to share and implement leading practices
- Assist and coordinate with the Purchasing department for effective ordering of spare parts
- Develop the technical and leadership capability of operators and Production Supervisors
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of cement plant operating experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline
- At least 3 years of experience in process and project engineering
- Progressive responsibility experience in production management including prior supervisory experience
- Motivation, ability, and willingness to be on-call as required including participation in the weekend coverage rotation, to ensure the continuity of plant operations
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational problems with cement manufacturing equipment
- Strong PC skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and inventory control software
- Experience in dealing with labor relations matters and administering collective bargaining agreements
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills
