Production Manager - Manufacturing Leader

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to spearhead our manufacturing operations with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency. This permanent, in-house position is perfect for someone looking to lead a dynamic team on the manufacturing floor, driving continuous improvements and celebrating team successes. As a Production Manager, you will directly contribute to the operational excellence and be integral to the strategic direction of production activities.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures establishing a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
  • Full ownership of the manufacturing shop floor operations and process improvements.
  • Lead a diverse team of Supervisors, Process Technicians, and Production Personnel across various shifts in maintaining high standards of workplace safety and organization.
  • Implement and track production metrics (KPIs) such as Safety, Production Rates, and Scrap Levels on visual display boards to ensure operational transparency and drive performance.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Navigate and manage collective bargaining agreements and uphold ISO and quality management system documentation.
  • Monitor staffing levels and make recommendations for optimal manning based on production needs.
  • Develop and periodically update operational workflows and documentation to ensure effective knowledge management and procedural adherence.
  • Collaborate with HR and union representatives to resolve workforce grievances and disputes in a manner conducive to workplace harmony and compliance.
  • Create robust training programs to ensure all team members are compliant with industry standards and capable of achieving operational goals.
  • Respond to and cover supervisory absences, ensuring continuity of leadership and oversight on the production floor.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing management or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and demonstrable success in managing a team.
  • Proven track record in driving process improvements and maintaining high levels of production quality and safety.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a demanding environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to develop, follow, and enforce safety standards and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in rubber processing/manufacturing highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system.
