Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and preparing art files to meet legal and licensor requirements and ensuring they are optimized for proofing and production. You will develop a deep understanding of Company products and collaborate closely with our Production Manager, Product Managers, Production team, Design team, and Licensing Approvals team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create guides specific to each production technique and embossing method used.
  • Create Art Specs that visually outline product construction for factories and licensors.
  • Learn and be fluent in NetSuite for item setup and data entry
  • Learn and be fluent in Company Products, including product types, finishes, and specification details.
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential production issues related to artwork and specifications.
  • Understand specifications required by licensors, including color, tone, typography, and size.
  • Work with the Production Manager and Implementation Designers to ensure accurate file set-up.
  • Work within tight production schedules to deliver appropriate output of designs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining timelines and creative parameters.
  • Review and adjust designer files to meet production specifications.
  • Organize, manage, and send art files for large-scale printing.
  • Support Licensing Approvals for legal lines and Proof of Purchase labels.
  • Assist in preparing materials and setting up for customer meetings.
  • Photograph products following ORB quality standards.
  • Clean, resize, and organize product images.
  • Create digital mockups for customer and licensor approvals.
  • Work with E-commerce and Production Manager to meet project deadlines.
  • Process an average of 25-30 items per day in the production workflow.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency in Design Software: Skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Color Expertise: Strong understanding of color manipulation, Pantone colors, and
digital printing processes.
Print & Production Knowledge: Experienced in file setup and preparation for print and décor products.

Prepress & Printing Operations: Experience with prepress printing operations, including file preparation, color separation, and ensuring print-ready accuracy.

Independent Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and independently to solve problems
and manage daily priorities.

Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong team player who works effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, Design, Product Management, and Licensing Approvals.

Project & Time Management: Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage workload, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design or Art & Printmaking with 1 year’s work experience in a related field or 3 years of work experience in a related field.
