Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Production Control Scheduler.

  • Full Time Permanent Contract
  • 39 hours per week.
  • Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
  • Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.


A challenging role for a talented, analytical Production Scheduler in an established international aerospace manufacturing organisation. This role is required to review MRP requirements against available resource and capacity within operations and provide an efficient launch plan that supports On Time Delivery to stock.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Schedule work flow through structures machining work centres in line with MPS requirements.
  • Convert and release works orders on SAP in line with MPS requirements and exceptions.
  • Key focal link between product group controllers and logistics for launching of parts into operations.
  • Maximising capacity through work centres using batch sizing and efficiency measures.
  • Challenge Production output against agreed doable manufacturing plan.
  • Provide root cause and understanding against start on time failures.
  • Ensure all Production issues/constraints are escalated in the right manner/timescale.
  • Ensure DAWC (Days at work Centre) targets are maintained and not exceeded at machine cells.
  • Action and maintain production order reschedule messages in a timely manner.
  • Support Production Control Centre in achieving highest internal audit (MOS) score.
  • Ensure adherence to Magellan processes and procedures.
  • Maintain MOS compliance in all areas.

Position Requirements

Academic:

  • Good GCSE Standard grade C and above

Experience:

  • Operational experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience within an MRP / ERP environment.

Key Competencies:

  • MRP / ERP understanding,
  • Advanced Excel, Logical, Analytical, Effective communication
