SUMMARY
The Product Manager – Products & Services is responsible for driving the strategic growth, profitability, and lifecycle management of assigned product lines and associated service offerings. This role owns revenue and gross margin performance for both products and services and is accountable for meeting or exceeding annual budget and growth targets.
This position requires strong cross-functional leadership to develop market-driven product and service strategies, establish competitive pricing models, expand recurring revenue streams, and ensure operational excellence through defined KPIs and service level agreements. The role collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Service, Legal, and global stakeholders to deliver profitable and competitive solutions across domestic and international markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management
- Serve as overall champion, evangelist, and owner of assigned product lines throughout their lifecycle
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning through tactical execution
- Own product line revenue and gross margin performance, with accountability for meeting or exceeding annual budget and growth targets
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, improve margin contribution, and enhance overall profitability
- Provide sales and activity reports to leadership and other stakeholders as needed
- Develop compelling value propositions and use case scenarios for sales teams, partners, and end users
- Anticipate market and customer requirements through analysis of competitive landscape, customer feedback, and industry trends
- Define product requirements through market research, trade show participation, customer engagement, and collaboration with R&D and leadership
- Lead internal product launch processes and drive go-to-market activities
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans in coordination with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, and global stakeholders
- Monitor and analyze revenue performance, margin trends, and cost structures; implement corrective actions to achieve budget objectives
- Broaden product portfolio through strategic partner development
- Participate in customer-facing meetings, technical discussions, and industry events as product expert
- Support and lead RFQ and RFP responses, ensuring alignment with product capabilities, pricing strategy, service scope, margin objectives, and contractual requirements
- Develop strategies reflecting familiarity with international marketplaces, including regulatory considerations, competitive dynamics, and regional pricing strategies
Services Portfolio Management
- Champion and drive growth of assigned service offerings, including extended warranties, maintenance agreements, professional services, and solution-based offerings
- Own service-related revenue and gross margin performance, with accountability for meeting or exceeding annual budget and growth targets
- Develop and execute service strategies that increase recurring revenue, improve margin contribution, and support overall business profitability
- Establish benchmark pricing for service offerings; develop pricing models aligned with market conditions, cost structures, and margin objectives
- Create, manage, and maintain service-related part numbers within ERP systems to support quoting, forecasting, order processing, and financial reporting
- Establish benchmark service offerings; identify opportunities for new or enhanced services and partner with management to define business case, implementation scope, and execution plans
- Partner with Finance, Sales, and Service leadership to forecast revenue, manage budgets, and optimize service profitability
- Define, monitor, and evaluate KPIs and SLAs to ensure services meet specified agreement levels; implement corrective actions as necessary
- Lead the creation, modification, and implementation of Statements of Work (SOW), ensuring alignment with scope, deliverables, service levels, financial objectives, and operational capabilities
- Participate in review and negotiation of Master Service Agreements (MSA), service contracts, and related customer agreements to ensure alignment with service capabilities, risk mitigation standards, financial targets, and operational feasibility
- Collaborate with Legal, Sales, Service, and Executive leadership on contract terms, scope clarification, performance commitments, and change management provisions
- Identify opportunities to expand attach rates, improve customer lifetime value, and strengthen customer retention
- Ensure alignment between product roadmap and supporting service roadmap to maximize total solution revenue and long-term profitability
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product or brand management, including development and execution of product roadmap plans and successful launch of products and/or services
- Demonstrated experience managing revenue and gross margin performance, with accountability for meeting budget and growth targets
- Experience establishing service offerings, pricing strategies, KPIs/SLAs, and contract-based solutions preferred
- Demonstrated experience preparing and supporting RFQ/RFP responses, including technical, commercial, and service components
- Experience working within international markets and cross-functional global teams preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate profitability, pricing models, and cost structures
- Ability to drive projects to completion through proactive planning and stakeholder accountability
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems and Salesforce.com preferred
