Precise Resource, Inc. is a leading privately held Women's Business Enterprise specializing in Executive Search and head-hunting services for Fortune 500 clients across the United States. One of our more prestigious clients has asked us for help in seeking a Product Engineer.
Our client is a reputable American business based in Illinois that specializes in crafting top-tier hand tools and has recently expanded into power tools. This renowned firm has earned a positive reputation among those who enjoy a high-quality product.
What you will be doing:
As an integral member of our organization, you will drive excellence and innovation in product planning, design, development, and introduction. You will support and manage new product development, sustainability, and cost-saving initiatives.
Additionally, this role involves ensuring that our core product lines meet all necessary engineering standards and specifications, including maintaining product quality, performance, and compliance with industry regulations, as well as addressing any technical issues that arise during production and throughout the product lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate on team projects as well as manage individual projects.
- Apply the new product development process to bring a product from feasibility through development, pilot, and launch.
- Perform quality improvement and cost reduction projects that improve customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Use problem-solving skills to analyze engineering difficulties.
- Define and drive appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform engineering analysis and field research to define design requirements for new products.
- Develop test plans for benchmark evaluation of competitive products, qualification of new or proposed products, and ongoing product improvement utilizing proposed processes or material changes.
- Mentor novice engineers and apply engineering knowledge while continuing to learn and grow from our more experienced engineers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with three (3) years of related experience.
- Electronics background, specializing in test and measurement equipment, is preferred.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is required for the product engineer position
- The candidate must possess a solid understanding of new product development and introduction. The candidate must also possess a broad spectrum of academic engineering principles and a basic knowledge of business-related initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong technical, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to facilitate complex projects and solutions and work on a project team. Ability to communicate and contribute with all cross-functional members, staff members, and outside consultants. Ability to work with all internal departments, plants, and facilities as well as outside vendors of finished goods and suppliers of components. Ability to manage tasks and mid-scale engineering projects. Ability to communicate with all levels of a project team and management. Ability to complete activities and perform projects on time and within budget.
