Responsibilities
  • The Process Engineer / Production Engineer is responsible for process improvements and optimization of the plant chemical operations. Identify and implement cost savings projects.
  • Assist with safety and environmental improvement projects.
  • Track and provide recommendations to ensure that production tonnage meets or exceeds plan.
  • Lead role on projects or other teams for expansions or improvements as a technical resource/expert.
  • Mentor junior Process and Project engineers and serve as a technology expert.
  • Lead quality investigations and form a team with appropriate internal representatives from Engineering, Quality, and Production. Tracks progress of investigation (RCA), and ensures appropriate actions are taken to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide material balance forecasting and assistance with cost forecasting.
  • Provide root cause analysis leadership and involvement in work management process.
  • Identify, request and apply capital funds for improvement and sustaining projects.
  • Relocation provided. $110K-$140K.
Requirements
  • The Process Engineer / Production Engineer will have a BS degree with a chemical engineering major.
  • 4+ years experience as process/ production engineer in a large, continuous chemical plant operation.
  • Knowledgeable in chemical unit operations.
  • Strong ability to communicate and direct activities of operators and maintenance.
  • Experience with Purified Acid, Sulphuric Acid, Fertilizers, Phosphate, Potash or Animal Feed a strong plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
