Process Engineer

Perform engineering functions to develop and improve processes per customer specifications, consistent with company capability. Support improvement initiatives in the facility as a member of the Engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, evaluating, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes
  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction and throughput
  • Understanding basic metallurgy principles and how they affect production of castings
  • Basic understanding of solidification techniques and how they apply to improving casting output and reduction of scrap.
  • Ability to understand gating and gating removal and how to enhance throughput in the machining of production castings without impacting part quality.
  • Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, part or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications
  • Providing engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems
  • Supporting company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and good manufacturing practices
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Leading cross-functional projects within area of responsibility
  • Recognizing own capabilities and taking initiative to continually improve

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a Process Engineering capacity
  • Previous experience within a foundry/casting environment is beneficial
  • CAD or Solidworks experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts
  • Ability to Problem Solve and Trouble Shoot
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
