PURPOSE: The Tissue Process Engineer provides technical oversight of the day to day operations of a world class, structured sheet tissue paper machine at this mill in the Southeast US. Reporting to the Machine Manager, personnel safety, process optimization, maintenance input and machine efficiency are top priorities. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary technical coach for operations team members
Lead Product and Process trials on machine
Work with vendors for process optimization which includes: NTT belt designs, chemical optimization
Lead partnership meetings with digester (client) and converting (customer) to ensure operational synergies
PI/Proficy Leader for the area
Training development, engineering design input, center-line development.
Serve as relief for the Machine Manager as needed
5+ years experience working on a multi-layer headbox crescent former paper machine in either dry crepe, TAD, or structured sheet technology in a technical role.
B.S. Pulp & Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical degree required
Understanding of machine processes operating at maximum efficiency.
Must have very good organizational, analytical, computer and communication skill.
