PURPOSE: The Process Engineer – Logistics is a support role that will support the supply chain function at this large paper manufacturing and converting operation in the Southeast US. The position will focus on identifying and improving areas of the process to streamline the supply chain function throughout the operation. The mill is currently going through a large expansion and there is excellent opportunity for career growth and development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a technical lead in the development and continuous improvement of our logistics processes
  • Lead on special projects for safety & cost improvements
  • Recalls – update status, monitor resolution and coordinate recall process
  • Act as C-TPAT coordinator
  • Train, and put into practice, various Continuous Improvement tools and initiatives
  • Facilitate process flow from customer service to Distribution Center shipping
  • Act as liaison between Transportation Company and Corporate Transportation Dept
  • Support safety culture

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial preferred
  • 2-4+ years of experience in manufacturing or related field, supply chain experience an asset
  • Demonstrated flexibility in handling multiple tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated and the ability to excel in a team environment
  • A good working knowledge in the logistics field would be a definite asset
  • JD Edwards experience considered an asset
