Part Time Private Tutor (British and IB Curriculum) – UHNW British Family UAE

Marcilly Recruitment's client, an UHNW British family based in Dubai, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Part-Time Private Tutor to provide academic support to their two sons, aged 9 and 11, who are educated within the British and International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculums.

This is a newly created position within a warm and welcoming household where education is highly valued. The family place a strong emphasis on raising independent, well-rounded children and therefore do not employ nannies. As such, this role is focused purely on the boys' academic development, helping them build confidence, structure and consistency within their studies.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified teacher with an excellent understanding of both the British and IB curriculums. You will support the children with homework, reinforce classroom learning and work closely with the parents to ensure they continue to progress academically while fostering a genuine enjoyment of learning.

The family relocated to Dubai approximately 18 months ago and are currently based in Dubai Hills Estate, with plans to move to a property in Jumeirah in the future. They are flexible regarding working hours and welcome feedback from the successful candidate to establish a schedule that works well for both parties.

Whilst this is primarily a Dubai-based position, should the geopolitical situation in the region require the family to relocate temporarily, they would ask the tutor to travel with them. The family own residences in London, New York and several other international locations. Should relocation become necessary, the family would look to increase the role from part-time hours to a full-time salaried position for the duration of the move. There is no expectation to travel during the children's school holidays unless required.

Private Tutor Package & Particulars

Salary: AED 15,000+
Benefits: DIFC employment contract, visa, Gold medical and dental insurance, 25 days annual leave
Location: on site at the household in Dubai Hills
Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 2 hours a day - schedule to be determined and agreed by both parties
Start Date: September 2026

Private Tutor Role
The Private Tutor will be responsible for overseeing the children's academic progress and ensuring they remain engaged, organised and confident within their studies.

Private Tutor duties will include:

Providing academic support in line with the British and IB curriculums
Assisting with homework, revision and academic organisation
Creating effective study routines and encouraging independent learning
Monitoring progress and identifying areas requiring additional support
Liaising regularly with the parents regarding progress and development
Adapting teaching methods to suit each child's individual learning style and personality
Encouraging curiosity, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning

Private Tutor Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (essential)
Strong experience teaching within the British and IB curriculums
Experience teaching within leading UK or UAE schools
Previous tutoring or governess experience within a private household is highly desirable
Experience working with UHNW families or within private households would be advantageous
Warm, engaging and emotionally intelligent approach
Firm but fair, with the ability to motivate and inspire children
Highly organised, proactive and adaptable
Educated to degree level, with a Russell Group university degree highly desirable
