Private Client (Trusts & Estates) Associate

We are partnering with a highly respected NYC-based law firm seeking a Midlevel or Senior Associate to join its Private Client Services (Trusts & Estates) practice.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a sophisticated practice advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and family entities on complex wealth planning and tax matters. The ideal candidate will come from a premier Private Client Services or Trusts & Estates practice and be looking to continue building a sophisticated private wealth practice within a collaborative, market-leading platform.

Responsibilities

• Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and family entities on sophisticated estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning matters.
• Draft estate planning documents, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
• Handle estate administration and tax controversy matters, including IRS examinations and appeals.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support complex client matters.
• Collaborate closely with partners, colleagues, clients, and other advisors while delivering exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Experience advising high-net-worth clients on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer matters.
• Estate administration and tax controversy experience is strongly preferred.
