Principal

The Principal position at Optimatum Solutions is a critical business development and project management role, responsible for the entire lifecycle of the engagement, from client acquisition through project delivery. Job Description

The Principal role is responsible for building new client relationships, business acquisition as well as project management and delivery. In this role you will network with key stakeholders across a variety of industries including Fortune 2000 executives, Private Equity sponsors, serial acquirers and family offices to promote Optimatum’s services and develop business opportunities. As part of your delivery responsibilities, you will support the development, implementation, and on-going monitoring of HR and benefit related programs, policies and administrative procedures to ensure success for each client and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Materially grow revenue through anticipating client needs, cross-selling new solutions and serving as an expert in new client pursuits by formulating solutions to meet prospect needs.
    • Client relationship management
    • Participate in prospecting activities and leveraging your expertise coupled with Optimatum’s solutions for Client acquisition
    • Delivering and reviewing Optimatum’s marketing materials to prospective clients
    • Participating in networking events and conferences
  • Engagement Delivery: Execute client engagements involving the management of the full array of HR and benefits programs.
    • Project Management: utilize fundamental project management techniques to enable superior client delivery, including the design and delivery of project plans; ensuring progress against established objectives, budgets, timelines, deliverables and quality standards
    • Vendor Management: apply the tenants of vendor management to the HR Supply chain, including the vendors that deliver Health and Welfare, Retirement and HR Systems.
    • Plan, Program and System Support: Liaise with internal client stakeholders to support the design/management of complex health and welfare plans including the annual benefit plan lifecycle, HRIS, financial and clinical analysis.
    • Transition Support: Provide project and vendor management during a time of transition such as an M&A transaction or new vendor implementation. Serve as the subject matter expert to ensure all relevant HR transition elements are completed.
    • Compliance Management: provide compliance related support including plan documents, annual notice, regulations etc.
    • Communication: Support client communication efforts
    • Client Services: proactively provide stewardship and advice to ensure client success

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 10 years of work experience and demonstrated success in a relevant area
  • Prior consulting or external stakeholder management and delivery experience required
  • Prior experience in HR and Benefits consulting or management is required
  • Prior M&A experience preferred
  • Strong technical proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong detail orientation while also having the ability to see the big picture
  • Energy and commitment to deliver high quality results in condensed timeframes
  • Ability to present and communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels to both internal and external audiences
  • Proactive and polished interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Confidence, presence and personal credibility to quickly establish successful relationships
  • Knowledge and familiarity with project management tools and processes
  • Ability to work with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders

* The expected base annual salary ranges from $150,000 - $225,000 plus uncapped incentive compensation. Base salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, training, experience, education, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
