Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Branch Manager of an international freight forwarding organization with 20 years’ experience in providing customized services to fit their customer's needs. They handle Air and Ocean, from and to any point in the U.S. with special expertise in Europe and Asia. Our client is a trusted logistics partner who can deliver attention to detail, reliability, communication and expert guidance on reliable third-party logistics warehouses, custom codes, duty percentages, and more.

The Pricing Manager will work closely with upper management and the sales department to develop pricing strategies. Key tasks include monitoring the market for price fluctuations, analyzing & maintaining customer and agent-customer pricing agreements, and providing direct support to all corporate sales growth initiatives by collecting pricing and preparing sales proposals. The successful individual will understand clients’ needs and wants to strategize costing & pricing and negotiate pricing for current and potential clients to increase profits and keep costs at a minimum for the company. Will create spot rates and/or quotations for LCL, FCL, Air, and Domestic shipments. Displays thorough understanding of industry-related terminology and processes and communicates with management on pricing desk performance and any issues that arise. Follow-up on quotations as needed and communication of positive or negative feedback to support the closure of all business opportunities. Enters data in CargoWise as required and performs other related duties and projects as requested or assigned by management.

Background Required:
  • International Freight Forwarding experience (4 years)
  • Multimodal (Ocean, Air, Import, Export & Domestic Transportation)
  • Comprehensive understanding of sales cycle and selling principles
  • Knowledge of European, Asian, and Latin-American markets
  • Industry Systems: CargoWise
  • Pricing negotiations
  • Tech savvy / computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel)
  • Education: High-school diploma or equivalent
  • Residence: Remote (eastern, central or mountain time zone)
Background Preferred (but not required):
