Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the EVP.

The Pricing Leader is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the team that manages all bid activity for all modes of transportation. Will own and refine the process for bid discovery with reps and manage and improve a pricing roadmap for successful bid completion and execution. Will work with business intelligence to continuously improve the algorithm used for pricing, and to develop internal reporting to create visibility around win/loss. Will collect, analyze, and distribute competitive market data to help cross-functional teams stay informed and understand market conditions and trends. Will identify, find, vet, profile, and negotiate with transportation assets of all sizes, regions, and mode capabilities. Continuously measure and improve company pricing performance while facilitating new and efficient ways to drive strategic opportunities. Forecast future capacity needs and work with carrier sales team to strategically develop capacity to ensure smooth onboarding of new business. Challenge is to assure compliance of all regulatory requirements, capacity development, optimizing costs, increasing revenues through pricing strategies and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Pricing within non-asset transportation, freight management environment (10+ years)
  • Track record of building, developing and mentoring high performance teams
  • Modes of Transportation (Drayage, Intermodal)
  • Bids and requests for proposals (RFP, RFQ)
  • Lane cost analysis, establish cost and service-related processes
  • Develop & manage KPI’s (i.e. compliance, margin, audit)
  • Profitability Analysis
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS) (i.e. Blujay)
  • Education: College Graduate - BA or BS
  • Computer literate (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Travel: Up to 50%
  • Residence: USA

  • Graduate degree: (i.e. Master’s, MBA)
