Structures Technician – Precision Aerospace Assembly

Shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (OT Eligible)

We are seeking an experienced Structures Technician to support precision drilling and structural assembly in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment. This role supports large aerospace structures and requires strong experience with close-tolerance drilling, calibrated tools, and structural fastener installation.

This is an opportunity to work in a cutting-edge production setting transitioning to high-rate manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drill and ream precision holes to tight tolerances (±.001–.002)

  • Install structural fasteners (Hi-Lok, lockbolts, rivets, NAS fasteners, etc.)

  • Operate manual and powerfeed drills (pneumatic preferred)

  • Perform torque verification using calibrated torque wrenches

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts

  • Inspect hole quality using pin gauges, micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gauges

  • Perform deburring, countersinking, and surface preparation

  • Work with metallic and composite materials (aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber)

  • Apply sealants, adhesives, and specialty coatings as required

  • Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized workspace

  • Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of aerospace structures or related manufacturing experience

  • Experience drilling close-tolerance holes in aerospace structures

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints

  • Experience using calibrated precision tools (micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches)

  • Experience installing structural fasteners

  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders/lifts, and lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with powerfeed drills or controlled-feed drilling systems

  • Experience with large structural assemblies (wing/body join, spar installation, etc.)

  • Industry certification or trade school training

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail and team collaboration skills
